A Mighty Heart

Friday, October 12th, 2007

A Mighty HeartAngelina Jolie makes an incredible performance, in a truly moving and gripping film. The film is based on the story of Daniel Pearl, the journalist whom in 2002 was brutally murdered in Pakistan by terrorists.

The film shows the story from the perspective of Daniel’s wife, Marianne Pearl, and follows the investigation and aftermath of the kidnapping. It is in itself a thrilling journey of a tragic event, that will make you cry. The film gives a seemingly unbiased portrayal of actual events, showing American assistance in a bad light. The outcome of the film is a positive one, so while the journey is a long and sad episode of todays modern world, it provides hope.

Click onto my Film page and you can see the list I’m currently collating (from memory) of everything I have seen. It’s still only about half complete, but i’ll be adding more soon when I’ve read through the archives at watershed.
